Counting the Costs of Ransomware

Being safe online has become increasingly difficult through the years. It used to be enough to have the latest software up to date, but these days it is hard to see all of the different attack vectors coming to compromise you and your business. One of the greatest threats in today’s cybersecurity world is the threat of ransomware. Ransomware attacks have multiplied in the fragmented, distributed, and largely unsecure world that is the reality of many that are working from home. Last year, ransomware attacks grew an astonishing 7 times - or more. Ransomware attacks are particularly disturbing when you count all of the costs, such as a major interruption of business operations. It has been estimated that the true cost of ransomware attacks is up to $20 billion - and climbing.
