Twitter is testing a new ad format on its platform for iOS
and Android. As a result, some people are seeing ads in the midst of
conversations; more precisely after the first, third, or eighth reply to a
tweet.
Twitter’s revenue product lead Bruce Falck shared the news with users, saying that Twitter is experimenting with a new ad format in Tweet conversations. He also shared a visual of what the format looks like.
Starting today, we’re trying something different and testing a new ad format in Tweet conversations. If you’re a part of this test (which is global; on iOS & Android only), you’ll see ads after the first, third or eighth reply under a Tweet. 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/kvIGeYt2vp

Some people are complaining that the new format feels
overstimulating and the placement of ads right in the middle of conversations
seems odd.
