Facebook plans to bring shops to WhatsApp for an easier experience

Since online shopping has become one of the most popular things in recent years and especially after the Covid-19 outbreak, any upgrade in online shopping would be of great help for the consumers.

Facebook and WhatsApp are two major social media platforms used by billions of people and hence, the company has planned a strategy for some kind of improvement. According to the news, Facebook plans to extend the shops on its platform to one of its other apps i.e., WhatsApp.

Previously, the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg made three new e-commerce upgrades in the Facebook-owned apps. These include visual search, shop advertisement, and open market on WhatsApp.
According to Facebook’s CEO, the company is trying to make the shopping experience as convenient as possible for consumers. Moreover, they are trying to help the shops on Facebook reach more audiences by bringing it to WhatsApp. Whoever is interested in a product, could directly talk to the sales management prior to the purchase and get all the queries answered.

WhatsApp currently is a family of more than 2 billion users out of which nearly 175 million are Business accounts. AI interface will help people look up what they are planning to buy after uploading the relevant photos. Hence, introducing this update could modify the online shopping habits which also seems to be Facebook’s sole purpose.
