The way we make hiring decisions at work is fundamentally flawed. We as hiring managers might not think that we are biased, but the issue of unconscious bias is happening largely without us even noticing it.
There is a better way forward - let’s use artificial intelligence to leave off identifying information about candidates so that we can finally make hiring decisions based on an applicants skills - not how much they look like us. Simple things such as a candidate’s name, gender, and even address are taken out of the loop when AI is helping us make better, unbiased decisions.
