Twitter adds Joe Biden’s victory label on Trump’s tweets

Twitter has been rolling out various improvement features before the U.S. Elections 2020 in order to ensure that the platform is not misused in any way. The company started labeling government officials, adding tags on tweets that spread incorrect information regarding Covid-19, acting against tweets that claim victory prior to the announcement of Elections results, and a lot more. The former American president Donald Trump has been putting up tweets on Covid-19 and other serious matters with false information that can potentially misguide the audience.

Since Twitter is the most widely used platform for sharing the latest news, there are billions of daily active users who follow the political leaders, celebrities, news accounts, journalists, and athletes so that they don’t miss out on hot pouring news.

Donald Trump tweeted about the recent SolarWind hack, which is reported as the biggest ever cyberattack in the history of America. In his tweet, he told that the situation is “under control” while in reality, the companies are panicking over the breaches they had discovered. However, Twitter has put the label of Joe Biden’s victory in Trump’s tweet about the SolarWind hack.

The company had a previous label that said, “Multiple sources called this election differently,” which left some confusion and doubt. But, since the election results have been finalized and Joe Biden is officially elected as the USA President, Twitter renewed the label. The new label now says, “Election officials have certified Joe Biden as the winner of the U.S. Presidential election”. The renewed label is way better than the previous one, especially on Trump’s tweet as he falsely claimed his victory in the elections 2020.

Trump also shared the exact same misleading information on another social media giant, i.e., Facebook. Let’s see whether or not this update is going to stop Mr. Trump from sharing incorrect news in the future.
