A survey of 25 countries was carried out by Ipsos in order to figure out what are the views of people from different countries about abortion. The results came out like few people in Europe think that abortions should be allowed in their region; however, a significant number of people from Asian and Latin American countries think the same.
Since 2014, the number of people that were in support of abortion slowly increased through the years, but, in 2020, the number fell back to the levels as of 2014. 20% more people in South Korea have started to support abortions since 2014.
Germany had great support for abortion in the previous decade and has dropped by 9% in the past six years. With this decrease, Germany now ranks behind South Korea, which is followed by Australia and Canada.
Ipsos also says that the decrease in the number of abortion supporters could be due to some anti-abortion activists that didn’t allow or kept on criticizing the abortion clinics/providers for being operational during the Covid-19 pandemic.
