Let's consider dogs in the United States— pets or not, what are the most popular breeds? We can get an idea of this only by the number of registered dogs. In the States, the Labrador Retriever or the Lab, for short, has been the most popular dog breed. And this is not just according to recent statistics, but the lab's popularity has stood the test of time, ever since 1999. Its popularity can be credited to the vast variety of jobs that it is capable of doing. Followed by the lab, are the German Shepherd and the Golden Retriever, ranking at positions two and three respectively.
Other than those, in the last 20 years, the French Bulldog has achieved quite a boost in its position.
