Definitely, gaming has changed over the years. In fact, there are a lot of historical things that have changed, and this is one of the best reasons to study history and earn a diploma. Its development from arcades to the first Nintendo progressed slowly for gaming at first. Especially over the past decade, we've gone from console gaming to smartphones, and even the new consoles that are released are more fancy than ever, featuring extremely detailed graphics.
Pong, the first arcade game, was released back in 1972, and the first gaming console was released just five years later— the Atari 2600 with more than 27,600,000 units sold. The most popular game of the console was published in Asteroids, in 1979. The 80s brought about the infamous Pac-Man which created more than $2 billion in revenue. It was also during the 80s that we were introduced to PC Football for Donkey Kong, the Nintendo Entertainment System and John Madden.
