Instagram is testing a new trimming feature for Stories that would make it easier for users to edit their stories within the app before uploading them.
Reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong tweeted about the new feature recently and in a tweet, you can see a new video slider trimming tool in stories, that would work the same way as video editing tools in other platforms. Instagram users can access this feature with the editing icon that appears to be added to the creative options.

The addition seems to be simple but it can be of advantage and make editing stories easier especially when you're on the go since many users use third party editing tools to edit their stories before uploading them.
If you have a brand, it will make it more easy for you to create stories that are more focused and refined. According to many reports, such stories perform the best.
Instagram hasn't said anything yet about when this new feature would be rolled out but since Wong has previously revealed unreleased features shortly before their launch, we can expect this tool to be made available in a month.
