The Ford Ranger is widely considered to be one of the coolest and most iconic compact pickup trucks ever made. It was ubiquitous in the 1980’s: Everyone either owned one, or wanted to own one. It was the best-selling compact truck from 1987 until the mid-90’s.

The evolution of the Ranger has been an interesting one to watch over the last 29 model years. It stayed the same for its first 10 years, and then in 1993, a major change was made, to keep it changing with the times.

In 2011, Ford surprised everyone by announcing that their latest model would not be sold in the US. The past seven years have been filled with speculation about when the latest model would be released, and finally, Ranger fans have an answer: A new model will be released in 2018.
