Mythical creatures are not real. In fact, the word mythical itself means "fictitious" or "occurring in or characteristic of folk tales or myths". So why are we still so afraid of them? Why do we hold onto that thread of possibility that one might be lurking around the next corner? It's difficult to say. Some believe it's because we like to feel scared, or that it's in human nature to believe that monsters exist. One things for sure: cultures from civilizations around the world and since the dawn of time have been telling tales of monstrosities in the night and creatures that carry children off without a trace.
