An item we use every day - the mobile phone - can cause stress, anxiety and depression. The use of social media and instant messaging can also affect our emotions, with a lack of eye contact and physical closeness in the way we communicate.
Many of us have almost constant access to the internet, with spans of knowledge literally at our fingertips. However, information overload is killing our capacity for reflection, and even altering the very structure of our brains.
Technology isn’t going anywhere soon, and while there are so many positive associations with tech development, we need to make ourselves aware of the possibly detrimental effects too.
