Bike City Copenhagen
Almost everybody who live in Copenhagen bike to get around. So many people bike that there are more bikes than people in the municipality - and 5 times as bikes as there are cars. Most of the bikes are pretty normal bikes, but there are also 130 bike taxis, 306 post bikes and a lot of cargo bikes (25% of the families with children have a cargo bike).

To serve all the people with bikes, there are 289 bike shops in Copenhagen and 20 companies that design and build bikes. There are also 429 km bike paths, which help the Copenhageners bike 1,27 million km daily! A lot of bikes unfortunately also means there are a lot of bike thefts every year. 18.000 bikes are stolen in Copenhagen every year - and 16.000 bikes are either left or forgotten around the city (so called "dead bikes"). Learn all this - and a lot of other interesting facts about Copenhagen as a bike city in this infographic.
