2016 has been a big year for virtual reality (VR) but 2017 will be even bigger. There is an abundance of venture capital investment for VR startups. As our visions of the future grows, we put together a list of 10 startups that are in the middle of this growth. Some are in augmented reality (AR) while others also dabble in mixed reality (MR). To select the top 10, our criteria was simple: find the most imaginative VR companies. Some of these are already popular while others are picking up steam.

Even though there has been a lot of hype about VR, the topic will continue to face backlash of how these technologies will be used, for good or for bad. Another topic for discussion is about who will be able to afford and adopt VR, even though most units and gadgets will sell out from highly anticipated product launches. These challenges will be in the news but nevertheless, the top 10 list got us buzzing about the future. We also included some fun facts like company location, funding, and who’s investing.
