Travelling Speeds of Animals
We are lucky enough to have a truly diverse mixture of animals living on planet earth. Each one has unique qualities, including being able to travel at different speeds. Some animals, such as the peregrine falcon can reach speeds of up to 242mph, while the house mouse can only travel at 8mph. These speeds can seem either really fast or really slow to us, but what would this speed actually feel like for us as human beings?

Check out this infographic to see how these animal speeds would feel for us, and whether they’d feel faster or slower than how the speed would feel for the animal. We’ve analysed speeds from a range of animals across the whole world, and even included some animals that you might never have even heard about before. Are there any speeds that surprise you or that you expected to be faster or slower?
