The 17th of March is the day that Irish people globally celebrate the day of their patron saint. Not only will Irish born people be celebrating but almost 12 % of Americans claim Irish ancestry as well as over 80 million people worldwide claim ancestral connection to the island of Ireland.

In order to celebrate this day, Giraffe Childcare have produced an educational infographic entitled '33 and a Third Facts About St.Patrick's Day'. Did you know that Patrick's grandfather was a priest and that his father was a deacon? Or that the first St. Patrick's Day celebration actually took place in Boston, Massachusetts in 1737 while it wasn't until 29 years later in 1766 that that the first parade took place in New York! These are just some of the amazing facts included in the educational infographic below! There's also a mention of leprechauns!
