LinkedIn has introduced a new addition to the Messaging tab recently, in the form of a ‘Focused Inbox’ display that divides into two tabs: Focused and Other. The ‘Focused’ tab will include more important messages while filtering out the less valuable ones to the ‘Other’ tab.

In a way, LinkedIn users will now be able to have their messages automatically filtered as important and spam/junk messages. In LinkedIn’s words, “Focused contains the most relevant new opportunities and outreach, while Other contains the remainder of your conversations.”

LinkedIn’s Product Manager Deepan Mehta revealed that the platform has observed a 20% increase in engagement via messaging year-over-year and users have been seeking a better way to organize their inbox, hence the update.

As per LinkedIn, Focused Inbox is being rolled out to all users around the world.
