By now, Instagram users are pretty familiar with the platform’s revised system that now focuses on video content more than photos, while Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has also repeatedly addressed the platform’s shift in its approach.
HypeAuditor has recently gathered some data to analyze the latest engagement trends on Instagram based on format. The team found out that Reels on Instagram have the most reach despite being the third most popular post option, while photos remain the most commonly used post option and make up 42% of all posts.
In addition to that, HypeAuditor also notes that Reels generate the most number of likes, while photos generate the most number of comments.
This insight is valuable in terms of suggesting content creators that they must rely on short-form videos more than images, if they wish their content to be seen by more people.
