Google’s Gesture Based Cursor Movement Finally Comes to Chrome for Android - Visualistan -->

Google has been letting users use gestures instead of taps when placing the text cursor. The company had added the updated feature to almost all of its apps except Chrome for Android, but the improved cursor control is finally coming to the app.

This cursor update makes cursor movement on the touchscreen easier as correct placement of the cursor can be a rather fine task sometimes. Computers are able to provide maximum assistance in this matter as the mouse cursor is a precise tool and allows you to click on the exact spot where you want to place your cursor, and the arrow keys also help. With smartphones however, it can be difficult to make precise tapping movements.

With Googles previous technology, you could tap on the text to create a teardrop that could be dragged, and would also highlight the selected text. Now with the gesture-based cursor movement, the experience will be a lot smoother.
