As the social media company continues to make significant progress with its new feature, it is now expanding it outside of the U.S., internationally. Facebook announced that it will launch News in multiple countries within about six months to a year. Facebook will pay news publishers in each country to ensure the availability of their content in the News section.

Moreover, the company says that according to the customer habits and news inventory in each country, it will work with new partners in the countries to tailor the experience and make it valuable for users. It also aims to honor publishers' business models with this initiative.

While planning to expand News to other countries, Facebook is simultaneously focused on making the News experience in the U.S. better with the partnerships that it has developed with U.S. publishers, and ultimately make News a valuable asset over long term.
