Facebook just announced an update for Messenger Rooms with new features to enhance users' experience of the joinable group video calls. Users will be able to personalize their Rooms, and create, join and manage Rooms within the Messenger app.
With the new personalization option, users can customize their background in the video chat with their own photos. From a favourite sunset to a funny home video, the video chats can be personalized in a fun and creative way on mobile.
In addition to that, Facebook is making it easier for users to create and discover Rooms within Messenger on their smartphones. The following options will be available:
Discover Rooms - Rooms that a user has been invited to will appear on the top of the Chats tab in their inbox
Create Rooms - The option to create a Room will be visible front and center in the Chats tab
Edit Rooms - With this option, users can easily create a Room with default, custom or suggested activity, set a future start date, and customize the audience section
Manage Rooms - This option will allow viewing, joining, and editing the created Rooms. Moreover, more people can be scheduled to a Room and inactive Rooms can be deleted
Share Rooms - Users can send notifications to their friends that they have invited to a Room to make sure they don't miss out
