Snapchat to Start Focusing More on Mental Wellbeing of Users

Snapchat has started to prioritize the mental wellbeing of its community and is now taking several steps in this regard.

One of the many efforts includes a partnership with Headspace, a meditation app. Users will now be able to directly access meditations and mindfulness exercises from Snap. This will also allow users to do meditation with their friends and even send motivational messages to their friends who need them.

Snapchat will also be focusing on mental health through its Snap Originals as well, a set of mobile shows launched specifically for Snapchatters.

Upcoming on the show Coach Kev will be comedian Kevin Hat who will share his experiences with the viewers. Snapchat has revealed that a similar show was viewed by 12 million users last year.

Snapchat has also started to prompt users to make sure they only add people on the app whom they know in real life to prevent online hazards.

Moreover, Snapchat is also working on a Here For You hub within user profiles to allow Snapchatters with resources including COVID-19, anxiety, depression, bullying, and more when they look up a topic related to their mental and physical wellbeing.
