LinkedIn Introduces 'Featured' Section for Highlighting Your Achievements

Your LinkedIn profile will now get a new look.

The popular social network for professionals is launching a new 'Featured' section to flaunt your key Achievements and updates at the right top of your profile.

According to LinkedIn:

"The Featured section allows you to showcase samples of your work to people who view your LinkedIn profile. This is a great way to provide evidence of your skills and experience."

You can add any LinkedIn posts of your choice to the section as well as add links to your personal blogs, portfolio or any website to show important aspects and achievements that are part of your career.

LinkedIn has said that this new update was highly requested, and while it helps users display key aspects of their capabilities it will also help freelancers showcase their services and abilities to potential clients by linking their portfolios or blogs directly to their LinkedIn profile.

To add things to the new section, you can select a 'Featured' star in your activity feed, this will then add that activity to the featured section.

LinkedIn has also mentioned that users will have to have an authored or published post on the platform to add it to the Featured section but on the other hand you can just link your work on any site to the section.

The addition will indeed come in handy to hone your abilities, achievements and services.  And people are already using it to add links to their YouTube channels or the articles they have published on other sites.

LinkedIn will quickly make the new section available to every user so if you don't see this new update on your profile don't worry, you will be able to use it soon.
