It has not been long since Nokia launched its first series of smartphones, and now the brand has introduced its first-ever Smart TV in collaboration with Flipkart.
Flipkart is a prominent e-commerce store in India. According to a report, Nokia has given permission to Flipkart to use its name for Smart TVs. Flipkart says it's a global first for Nokia to step into the TV category".
The Flipkart’s VP of Nokia brand partnership Vipul Mehrotra has said that this step will help to make Nokia Smart TVs affordable for the users by understanding their needs and behaviors. Since we all know that Nokia went out of the picture for quite some time, a TV series could push Nokia back to the limelight.
The Nokia Ultra HD (4K) Smart Android TV is a 55-inch TV that comprises of a 16:9 display with a 60Hz refresh rate, it also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Furthermore, the TV operates on Android OS, although it hasn’t been clarified which version. The smart TV also has HDMI supports along with two USB ports.
The Nokia TV will launch in India on December 10th. We are yet to see if this move would be successful and if the brand would expand its Smart TVs to other countries.
