Facebook Launches 'Work Groups' for People to Connect With Their Coworkers

Facebook has recently launched a new "Work Groups" option which aims to help coworkers connect more conveniently with each other on the platform.

With this option, users will be able to have personal interactions with their co-workers. In work groups, a user's work-related information will only be displayed on their profiles.

This will also allow you to message their colleagues without adding them as Facebook friends.

To create a work group, you'll have to visit Group Settings > Group Type and select 'Work'. This option is available for both mobile and desktop versions.

You can also change the group type any time you want. Each group member will also be able to 'opt-out' from receiving messages from spammers or any annoying members.

This option may not be a big one, but it surely gives users a chance to connect with their colleagues while protecting their privacy. Many people had stopped making public posts on the site because anyone would be able to view them from distant relatives, to old classmates, which to many has been a problem.

It seems like Facebook wants to give a tough time to professional networking site LinkedIn with its new updates and features along with Facebook Workplace - a private version of Facebook for work. But will Facebook's attempts be successful? We are yet to find out.
