We all have a superstitious side, but when it comes to sports it seems that superstitions and specific rituals have become a key part to the game for both the players and the supporters. Sports fans may have their various rituals which they believe will bring their team luck, but what about the players?
With the pressure on for them to bring their A game, some of these sports stars have turned to some pretty bizarre routines to help create the luck they need to help them win. Former NFL star, John Henderson believes that the key to success is being slapped across the face before a big game, whereas Lyoto Machida, Brazil’s ultimate fighting champion, drinks his own urine every morning to cleanse his body and prepare him for the day. These rituals may be a little bizarre, but considering these players’ success, you have to wonder whether they’re onto something.
