Meteorologists monitor the path and intensity of hurricanes long before they ever make landfall. That doesn’t mean that it is always possible to accurately predict where exactly they will strike just how much damage they will do. Communities in the path of these violent storms need to prepare for the worst and have an adequate disaster relief program in place before they become overwhelmed by these natural disasters.

It is a well known fact that hurricanes destroy property every year, but they also threaten lives and cause lasting emotional trauma to victims. Simply insuring against the financial liabilities is not enough. A good recover plan will include support during the time of crisis as well as counseling for those who end up suffering from stress and depression.
