The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Assessment was created by the mother-deaughter team, Katherine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. They combined their psychological research and beliefs with that of Carl G. Jung, resulting in the 16 Psychological Types on which the MBTI Assessment is based. In Jung’s theory, she recognized eight patterns of normal behavior. Briggs and Myers developed Jung’s ideas of these mental functions and included their role in the concept and descriptions of MBTI psychological type.
