Asia's Richest Families

Bloomberg's recent ranking reveals the Ambani family as Asia's wealthiest, rebounding from previous losses via their Mumbai-based conglomerate, Reliance Industries. Their wealth, more than double that of the Hartonos of Indonesia's Djarum brand, secures them the 8th spot globally among the richest legacy families. The 2024 list sees an increase in Indian representation, with the Jindal and Birla families joining. Hong Kong and Thailand contribute two families each to the top 10, including the Yoovidhyas, inventors of Thai Red Bull, at rank 6. Chinese emigrants feature prominently, like Chia Ek Chor of the Chearavanont family in Thailand, while others, such as the Pao/Woo family (rank 11), Lee family (rank 17) in Hong Kong, and the Sy family (rank 14) in the Philippines, made fortunes after immigrating from Mainland China.
